Where else in America can you find tastes from all cultures, than in New York City? NYC is home to some of the most original and thriving art and design communities, which can have a great influence on future designers. Keep reading to learn about the possibilities that spring from going to a fashion design school in NYC.

The Fashion Center of America

NYC hosts a long list of events in the fashion design industry, something a fashion design school student in NYC is sure to want to check out. This February New York Fashion Week debuted new spring collections featuring a few questionable trends for 2006: throwbacks to the 70s and 80s with tapered legs and high waists. Year-round fashion events abound, with the emphasis constantly changing. Bridal shows, shoe expos, accessories shows and runway shows from each fashion design school in NYC ensure that there is always an event you will find inspiring.

New York magazine keeps any fashionista or student attending a fashion design school in NYC posted on events, designers and gossip in the industry.
