Celebrities often get their cars, houses, and cell phones customized to fit their persona. As a fashion design student, you could have a future making custom design clothing for those wishing to truly make fashion individual. Missy Elliot, Beyonce and more stars all wear custom design clothing that is uniquely them. Read on to find out how you can start a career in custom design clothing.

Many times celebrities will attain icon status with an empire of movies, albums, accessories and fragrances. It's only natural that they should seek a fashion design school graduate to build a custom design clothing line just for them. Two of the most prominent figures in hip-hop music have launched their own custom designed collections.

Hip Hop Style

The world of hip-hop and rap music is cutting edge in terms of custom clothing design. Missy Elliott has often sported personalized earrings, sweatsuits and baseball caps in her videos. The athletic shoe company Adidas was so taken with Missy's talent (both in fashion design and in music) that she is now designing a line of sneakers in her name. Success in fashion design will come right on the heels of her success in the music industry as a producer and artist.

Sean "P. Diddy" Combs is another hip-hop artist who has conquered the music world and moved into fashion. His custom design clothing company, Sean John, premieres a collection of menswear every year, and a new fragrance has just been launched.

Hip-hop artists have embraced custom design clothing, both as a means of personal expression and profit. As a fashion design school student, what can that combination mean for your career?
