Levi Strauss has been a leader in fashion and apparel design since the 19th century when they created denim for the gold rush miners in California. The needs of today's fashion consumer have since changed, as people look for comfort, style, and design when they shop. This fall Levi's will release their Red Wire DLX jeans--a style that allows iPod users to wear their music in their jeans.

Levi Strauss is a successful denim company because their simple, classic fashion and apparel designs have adapted to America's sense of style over the years. From 501s to embroidered jeans in the 1960s, Levi's recognizes that one of the most important fashion design jobs a label has is to evolve with the needs and interests of the consumer.

Building a Fashion Design Career for the Future

Now Levi's is launching a pair of jeans that offers iPod users on the go a functional way to listen to their music--by making jeans with iPod compatibility. Whether or not this style becomes popular, the message is clear: Fashion design is for the people--and that is why Levi's has thrived since the beginning.

Fashion Design School

One of the best fashion design jobs in the industry is working with the team that develops the latest cut, wash, or innovative pair of denim. Fashion design school gives you the tools and in-depth instruction that is needed to thrive as a fashion innovator. Learning about the market, fashion trends, and how to adapt as a designer will help you develop a fashion design career that is as timeless as your own pair of true blues.
