A career in fashion is anything but conventional. These examples of real fashion school graduates illustrate just how unique your journey can be once you've earned your fashion degree!

Late for School, But Not Too Late for a Career
Designer Gresham Blake, who lives in Brno, Czech Republic, earned his fashion degree later than most students. He also earned a business degree. Even though he got a late start, he found a design house to produce his ready-to-wear clothing just half an hour from his design office. He designs for Paul McCartney, among other several actors and DJs.

Working For Yourself in Fashion
After fashion school, Adriana Ferrell returned home to the Santa Clarita Valley in California and opened her own bridal shop, where she runs her business by appointment only. She also moved many of its operations online, boosting her fashion business's Internet presence.

Consulting, and Designing, After Fashion School
Fashion merchandising degree graduate Chantel Stockton of Delaware started her own image consulting business after college. While her business pays the bills, she also keeps her passion for designing alive by working on her own line of jewelry. Working for many years in retail fashion before starting her own fashion business has paid off. She now works for herself, in her favorite industry.

A career in fashion is never scripted, particularly for the most successful designers. Know that while your first fashion job may not be ideal, you never know where it could lead. Those marketing and business classes in fashion school will come in handy when you're running your own fashion business.
