November has been a month of mixed blessings for Burberry. As of November 15th their profits are reported to be down, but with winter fashions in full swing chief executive Rose Marie Bravo is "cautiously optimistic." Meanwhile, Christopher Bailey's fashion designing career has had a boost and Kate Moss is part of the Burberry family again. Choose your path wisely -- launch your fashion career from The Art Institutes. Study with industry professionals and get hands on training with student-sponsored fashion shows.
Burberry Boosts Kate Moss's Fashion CareerIn the fallout from September's revelations about Kate Moss, Burberry was one of the first companies to cancel a fall project, due to "mutual agreement." However, today's fashion world loves rebirth, and Burberry have announced that they are to be part of Kate's fashion career again.Burberry's Christopher Bailey Celebrates Boost to Fashion Designing CareerTop Burberry designer Christopher Bailey has said that Kate's fashion career and personal problems should be kept separate, and that she is "absolutely part of our family." Bailey's fashion designing career is certainly on the up. He has just been voted Designer of the year at the British fashion awards. In today's fickle fashion world, however, his employers at Burberry are experiencing less good fortune.Rose Marie Bravo's Glittering Fashion CareerRose Marie Bravo, who is stepping down as chief executive of Burberry next July, has made the resurgence of Burberry one of the highlights of her own fashion career. Rose is largely credited with the company's turnaround, but has this month announced a drop in sales of 3 percent due to less demand for the spring/summer range.Rose never intended to stay at Burberry forever, so her departure in July should not be viewed as a desertion. Since winter is traditionally the best time to don your Burberry, Rose is "cautiously optimistic" for the next set of profits. Sadly for Burberry, by the time the scarves are in storage for summer, Rose's fashion career will have gone to find new mountains to climb.
