yclical…that's what we love about it. Today's fashion, gone tomorrow. Unfortunately, some fashion trends keep showing up like a bad rash. What are fashion designers thinking? Do you wish you had a fashion career so you could do better? Here are three of today's fashions that should be yesterday fashions.

  • Cropped pants with high-heels. Did someone with a fashion degree dream this up? Perhaps. But I bet that most with a fashion career are sick of it too. On about one percent of the population, this is a cute look. The rest of us look like Oompa Loompas in stilettos. Our legs look about a foot long. Do those with a fashion degree want us to look bad in their clothes on purpose? Cropped pants are meant to be casual. They used to be called clam diggers for a reason…they are meant to be worn at the beach. With flats.
  • Cowboy boots with shorts. I love cowboy boots. I am from Nevada, after all. I once had a professor who had a million different pairs that she wore with ethereal dresses and I have always wanted to emulate that fashion look. I love that those with a fashion career have embraced this look. Cowboy boots never go out of fashion, at least around here. But with short shorts? Might be today's fashion, but those with a fashion degree probably cringe every time they see it.
  • Peasant/Flowy skirt. Another case of today's fashion hanging around too long. I have about four of these in my closet. I am old enough to have seen this fashion trend before and every time it comes around, I jump on the fashion bandwagon. I am sad this one coming to an end, but it's called today's fashion because it shouldn't keep spilling over into tomorrow.
