"Designer finds history reflected in fashion" recaps a presentation given by an Illinois costume designer on how history can be learned by studying fashion. Perhaps of more interest to prospective fashion students, though, is that she talked a bit about her career path and her transition from student to working at a costume shop to her becoming a full-time costume designer with her own studio:
